The foundation's mission is to preserve and maintain the schooner Martha and to provide sail training and other educational activities concerning maritime history for the general public.
Since 1997, Martha has been owned and operated by The Schooner Martha Foundation whose sole purpose is to maintain and restore Martha and to use Martha to operate sail training programs.
In cooperation with marine surveyor Malcolm Munsey; The Schooner Martha Foundation has designed a 10 phase plan to restore MARTHA to the classic yacht she once was, which will insure her preservation for future generations. And, on Martha's 100th birthday, in 2007, she will race in the Master Mariners Race in San Francisco under the SFYC burgee.
Our maritime heritage is preserved by those that take an active role in either hands-on participation or through donations.
Martha's restoration, maintenance, and sail training programs are provided for, in part, by tax deductible donations. To make a donation, please send a check to The Schooner Martha Foundation 1010 Valley St, Ste 100 Seattle, Washington 98109 or contact us at (206) 310-8573 or schoonermartha@yahoo.com.
