Now that the woodworking portion of the main mast project is complete we are switching our focus to rigging details.In shop work on the mast is on hold, the mast hanging overhead to provide room for the ongoing educational small craft building projects in the NWMC Boatshop.
As to the rigging details. We have decided to upgrade the main mast standing rigging to a Dynema high modulus rope. This is yet another exciting phase of the project as Pete and Cathy Langley and the team of Port Townsend Foundry, John Franta of COLLIGO Marine and Ian Weedman of Brion Toss Riggers create new bronze hardware, provide Dyneema line and provide the principles of art and science to the making of the new standing rigging for the main mast.
