A big thank you to Bruce Blatchley’s Contemporary Boat building class from the Northwest School of Wooden Boatbuilding. These 11 guys, along with our crew lead by Doug Jones and Robert, were able to meter, mix, apply the glue (again, huge thank you to Admiral Ship Supply for donating System Three Gelmagic epoxy!) and close the box in just over an hour. In the orientation that the mast is laid out, we put the top on, this translates to the forward side of the new mast. The clamps will come off on Monday and it will be time to begin the shaping. Anyone who might be interested in joining in for any of the shaping work the next couple of weeks should reach out to us, either email us at schoonermartha@yahoo.com or come by and poke your head in.
