Infusion of course is like many things; the devil is in the details.
I had asked for a 1/4″ skin thickness, which we arrived at by using two layers of 108 oz infusion cloth, generously donated by Townsend Bay Marine.
This cloth is heavy and stiff and lays down like a carpet, causing a bit of an issue with wrinkles. This would complicate the finish aesthetic, and was going to be difficult. But do not under estimate Brandon Smith of Turn Point Design. He wrassled this beast into submission on Friday the 10th. We came in on Saturday to grind and fair and Brandon came in on Sunday to fill coat and laminate a 12oz biaxial cloth over all, to ease the finish. Hats off to Turn Point Design for making a tough project work out cleanly.
